| no partners | | Early morning scramble along Lake Powell. I got out there around 6am. Still fairly dark at that time so I waited 15 minutes or so for the sun to catch up with me.  Found an easy path down and then made my way to the edge overlooking Powell. The sun was painting the sky so I took some pictures as I walked along the rim. I didn’t make it out to the peninsula. Made it about .7 miles. Reached a spot where the slope became too steep and I didn’t feel comfortable continuing on. Eyeballed the peninsula from there. Though it looked like there was easy access to get to the peninsula (from the road), I am not about the access from the peninsula to the water. Looks like there is quite a drop. Went back the way I came. Pretty neat area to explore. Cool rock formations. Very pristine. Felt like I was walking on God’s canvas. |

| no partners | | | Had to hike around trying to get gas because my car ran out. Not quite the funnest way to do this hike, but hey, the lightning show was pretty amazing. |

| no partners | | Had a great time roaming around along the west end of Wahweap Bay. The water was awesome as it was scorching hot here in Page today. This rivaled my last Grand Canyon trip as about the hottest I have ever been hiking.  It was all good in the end though.
Since I'm on a short leash with respect to work, it's nice that there are some pretty cool options here that keep me close by. Exploring Page has been fun, and it makes me see how awesome Glen Canyon could be to explore if one had more time. |
