A nice day hike with a friend from undergrad. Bug pressure was light, wildflowers expiring, grouse chicks growing, and tarns bright teal. We walked over the moraine to the base of the glacier. There were a few icebergs in a tarn so I don't think the glacier quite gone yet - some may remain beneath the talus. Really though, this glacier has been reduced to shrinking snow patches.

Snagged a coveted permit here - guess other people don't like snow. Anyway, this was nicely melted until the climb above Royal Lake. No other campers at the lake, and no bloodsuckers yet either! Sunset and sunrise were spectacular with fog rising out of the valley below.
