Great hike with beautiful weather! Lots of wildflowers and saw quite a few other hikers on the trail. Creek isn't running, just a small spot of water where the spring is. Enough for my dog to get a drink though :)

Nice hike with my sister. We started early. nice weather, took lots of pictures and saw lots of butterflies. The trail is well maintained and beautiful views at the top. We came back the way we came, making the tail about 6 miles.

Trail has had a lot of work done to it since I've been here last. They did an awesome job which has made the trail easier. Trail is fairly steep but not to long. Lots of wildlife about. I didn't go into the cave this time as I have been in there before. Lots of damage and vandalism inside, but still neat to explore.

My fellow Girl Scouts and I completed this route of trails as kind of a last hurrah together before we all graduated and went our separate ways. The trail was quite the adventure :) It was my first real serious backpacking experience and I learned a lot about myself, my friends, and how to be a backpacker. We saw lots of wildlife (alive and dead), signs of illegal aliens, and ruins... and I don't want to forget the beautiful scenery! During this trip I used mole skin for the first time. No one had instructed me on how to take the stuff off, so at one particular spot we stopped for a break and I was going to change my socks since we had been hiking most of the day and they were quite damp. Earlier in the day I had applied mole skin to a particular spot that was beginning to bother me. So anyway, I went to change my socks and decided to change the mole skin too... big mistake! I ended up ripping off a chunk of skin about a quarter of an inch thick! After the bleeding stopped, my scouts and leader decided it was probably best if we called our Search & Rescue guy to come pick me up. I had come this far and really didn't want to stop, so I convinced the Search & Rescue guy to take my pack and meet us at our camp spot later that evening. Hopefully by then I'd feel I was still able to hike... and I was. After that I learned how to use mole skin properly :D Despite that one event, we had a great time and I would love to complete this hike again someday.
