Hiked Mt. Trumbull on October 12, 2004. Started out about 10:30 in the morning. We had camped at the Toroweap campground for two nights prior and did the Mt. Trumbull hike on our way out of the area. We were amazed at how different the weather and terrain was at Mt. Trumbull, just 20 miles from Toroweap. Mt. Trumbull is in the pines. It was 60 degrees when we started our hike--delightful hiking weather. We hiked until the trail ran out. The trail is quite steep, but very wide, well marked, and seems to be well maintained.
