hiked madera canyon supertrail trailhead to josephine saddle then took the old baldy trail across. it is about 15 degrees cooler than tucson. starts out with oaks and pines and eventually becomes predominately pine. there is still some sign of damage from last years fires but it is still just beautiful.this trail is in pristine condition. great parking, bathrooms, grills, and picinic tables at the trailhead. signs are posted along trail to let you mark your progress.

this hike is a very well maintained trail. i like it best when i park at the amphitheater walk up the paved road towards the main trail head parking then hike the nature trail from the top down to the bottom. there are nice facilities. bathrooms, lots of picinic table, grills, gift shops, etc....absolutely beautiful hike.

from boulder canyon trailhead to peralta trail head. awesome hike. shannon and i started started from the boulder canyon trail side at 6:30 am (having parked a car at the peralta trailhead parking area the night before). for a late spring hike i was amazed at the amount of water at the various springs. we packed a lunch and cooled our feet off while eatingt at about the half way point. we parked at the trailhead parking in the canyon lake marina parking lot.

this was my first trip to camelback. wow! cool hike. 8) a lot more vertical than i thought it would be. :o the view at the top was great. :D all in all the hike reminds me of a miniature version of picacho peak. the only down side of the hike would be the crowds of people. :? we got there at about 8 am on a saturday and the parking lot had a waiting line past the entrance to the little subdivision gate. so we parked about half a mile away at the phoenix lot. that actually worked out great because it gave some good time to unwind on a flat level surface before hopping in the car. best advice start early to avoid crowd. dont try to rush. the top will be there when you get there, and the bottom will be there when your done! :D after the hike we went to the rei kayak clinic at tempe town lake. it was ag treat way to cool off!

the falls looked great! the snowmelt made for some great pictures. the hike its self was great. the trail is in excellent shape. if you like there is a tram available that will knock 2 miles of pavement off each way.

the hike is a well marked trail starting from canyon lake marina parking lot. the first mile is up hill and has some loose rock. there is a downhill portion that is a long climb on the way back. you will cross two washes along the trip. second water is about 20 minutes past the second wash crossing. sights to see include the foundation of a building that once was a part of the indian paint mine. we turnrd around at the second water trail junction.

there are some steep steps and loose rock. the trail is very easy to follow and the view from the saddle is great. my personal preference is hiking up the sunset trail and back down on hunter trail. its a little longer, took me about 6 hours, but neat to see all angles of the peak.

nice hike. a wilder climb than i expected. the cable handholds in the draws are pretty cool. if you dont like like heights youll hate this. hiking up sunset, down hunter, and walking the road back to the sunset trailhead was a nice hike.

cave location is not well marked. as you are looking at the sign you will want to go to the cave entrance to the left. not the one in front of you. ladders, small holes to crawl through, lakes. mud, my kind of place !!!!!

incredible hike. pictures do not do the falls justice....camp sites are clean and well maintained. water is readily available. 2.2 mile hike into village. hiked in, took helicopter out. helicopter ride was $85 per person included pack. views from helicopter. priceless.
