Hiked down Blue Wash past the Cadillac. The soil was still saturated from the rains, and Camp Creek was flowing steadily. We left Blue Wash too early, though, and had to hike a little longer to get back to our parking area.

Surprisingly quiet for a weekend. Went with my six- and 15-year old sons. The trails were easy to find, and First Water was flowing steady throughout its course. Didn't see the spring, but maybe next time.

I took my 5- and 14- year old boys on an overnight backpacking trip. We got to the parking lot about 3:30 pm, found the trail and headed on up. Based on recommendations from the forum on this site, we set up camp across the creek about 3/4 mile upstream. We bear-proofed the campsite, but I don't think we had any activity in the area, even raccoons or skunks.

In the morning we began to see small groups of day hikers, totalling about 12 groups in all. We continued up the trail (leaving our packs at the campsite), but turned back after about another 3/4 of a mile, having reached my younger one's limits. After hauling our gear back to the car, we drove up to check out the hatchery. The kids had a great time!
