A great day for a hike and way overdue for me.

Starting at the horse staging area I headed up Mesquite. It was a nice even grade for th first mile or two and then it jumped up the intensity for about the next half mile to a mile. The rest of the way was smooth sailing and a very enjoyable hike. Slight inclines and declines but nothing too rough. Lucky for me as this was the maiden voyage of my new boots. (Thanks REI dividend!) I proceded pretty quickly up to the crossing for Ford Cyn/Mesquite/Goat Camp. I had an appointment at the vet for Duke the lab in my picture at three, so I decided to take Willow Cyn. back around to Mesquite instead of proceeding all the way around to the end of Goat Camp trail.

Flowers were better than expected for me way out here. I will attempt to attatch the better photos I took of the flora enroute.

Finished the hike in just about four hours. I was a bit surprised at my fairly quick pace as it has been a month or two since my last excursion. All in all a great hike and good excercise on a wonderfull day!

FYI My Vasque Breeze GTXs were awesome. No issues whatsoever on thier trial run, and I always have problems breaking boots in.
