| no partners | | My best friend (wife) and I hiked the Fossil Springs Trailhead. It was a beautiful overcast day and we had almost the entire area to ourselves. We got a late start after eating lunch in Pine. Note to self (stay away from Nifty-Fifty Diner) We also stopped at the Fossil Creek Creamery and received a tour by the owners who were very sweet. It was worth the stop. My wife also loved the fudge. I'm very appreciative of the couple who were backpacking out taking a few minutes and talking with us. Especially the nice lady who encouraged my wife to backpack and described it so nicely. We have been hiking locally for a couple of years on almost a daily basis at Thunderbird Park in Phoenix and decided to go and do a trail hike. I'm really glad we did. It was really a wonderful experience and my wife is ready to take the next step and do some backpacking. Our kids are older and I was kind of nervous that my time in the woods hiking and backpacking may have ended with the boys scout days but it looks like I have a new partner who really enjoys the experience too. I can't wait for our next outting. |
