This was my third time at Camelback. It is a little difficult hike but if you take your time it is fun.We started around 9 am and it was pretty hot, next time i will try it around 7am.I didnt take enough water with me which made it a little more harder but seeing a gila monster made my day...

We stayed at Phantom Ranch for two nights and took Briht Angel Trail up.We started around 4.30 am after a light breakfast.I was still in pain after hiking down the South Kaibab Trail but Bright angel was much easier ,more shade and (in my opinion)more beautiful than the Kaibab trail.I was ok for the first half but my partner didnt take any brakes and she is in better shape than me, so last couple miles i got pretty tired. She was done in 5hrs 30 min.
I am planning to do the same hike next year again.

I was lucky enough to find a place in Phantom Ranch with just 3 weeks notice. We started our hike at 4.30 am, it was very dark and some other hikers didnt have flashligts. We helped them with our lights first one hour.
The weather was ok until 8 am but it was very hot after that. Some old hiker that started with us took 12 hrs to come down and he was carrying 2 gallons of water.

-I recommend to start this hike as early as possible.
-We took the hikers shuttle, make sure you are not late and exactly be at the bus stop, our driver didnt stop for two hikers only 20 feet away from the bus stop.
-If you have a knee problem like me, use bright angel trail.
-Good shoes=no blister

I grow up watching westerns and this place was my dream place to visit.
First day we did offroading on 17 miles loop and camped on top near the hotel. The camping fee was 10 dolars. When we woke up around 5.30 am the scenery was amazing. If you make this trip make sure you wake up before sunrise.
I took a 2 hrs horseback ride on second day and saw some old drawings.I was hoping to see some ruins but they told me that i need to take a 4-5 hrs horseback trip to do that.
We had lunch at the hotel and the food was very good and it was cheap considering that is the only restaurant around that area.($9 for a plate of lamb stew)
I am looking forward to do this trip asap. :)
