This was a very scenic hike. The water was still running pretty good, but we were still able to cross with no problems. Saw a lot of hikers taking in all the beautiful spring flowers. I love Spring!

Due to the fires, they are doing a lot of work on Highline. The boundary fence that is mentioned in the directions is not noticeable AT ALL on your way towards Drew. In fact, it is only visible coming down on the left side and the only reason we saw it was due to a surveyor's sign - that is behind a tree. The gate (with its link above for a descriptive picture) is incorrect. It is a barbed wire fence with corral entrance. I am not exactly sure how you would explain it, but it is not a gate. I am going to post my pictures to help out future hikers. We were lost for about 45 minutes down Highline, and ironically met up with another couple that read these same directions above that were also lost. At the junction of Highline/Drew, it was very confusing. If the picture would have been updated, that would have helped a lot. If the directions would have said you immediately turn left and head parallel to the barbed fencing, that would have helped also. The signs were down and laying on the side of the trail. We found them and used rocks to put them back up as best as possible. We also placed a HUGE rock cairn in front of the tree (right next to the barbed fence) that actually had a plastic "291" nailed to it. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions. It was a BEAUTIFUL hike today. The colors were spectacular. We prayed that we would eventually find Drew Trail, and we were so glad that we did. It was well worth the 45 minute detour :-)

I do this pass every day after work. If you want a great workout, do Telegraph Pass to Dobbin's Lookout and then back down. 50 minutes and about 400 calories! :-) You feel great after!!

We have done this trip now twice. It is a nice hike up, but my favorite is taking Peralta Trail to Cave Trail. THAT is my favorite! If you haven't done it, and you want something somewhat easy, do it! :)

By far my favorite hike. It is easy and the scenery is beautiful!!! Go in the Spring or early summer when the flowers are still out. We just returned again on the 3rd and most of the plants were brown. Get there by Peralta Trail and then connect with the parking lot using Bluff Springs Trail. It is a great 3 to 4 hour trek. Enjoy!!

This was my first hike after I moved here on the 8th of April...nothing like starting out with a bang. However, it has been the best hike I have done thus far as far as difficulty. You felt really accomplished after doing this hike.
