A friend said there might be water in the pools in the creek which is what drew me to the hike, like a bee to honey.....Alas, there were only some very small puddles, but still a lovely hike with giant swallow tail butterfly for company and lots of black swallowtails happily feeding. Lots of wildflowers in bloom! Although it was hot, being August, it was enjoyable because everything was so green especially all the grass which is otherwise brown the rest of the year. There were some cool breezes and enough shade to make it bearable, but not much cloud cover today. No other hikers on the trail, just a very loud family of breeders hanging out under one of the big rocks in the first part of the creek bed. I'll be back..... |
