Beautiful hike!! This is a little longer than advertised. The trail is 3.2 miles each direction, but that doesn't start until you are a little ways from the parking lot. Plus there is not a definitive end since the "end" is the maintained trail which ends in the creek. You cross the creek 13 times each direction. It was very shallow and the crossings are well marked with stones or logs. If you have sandals or water socks definitely take some time to wade. The entire trail is very peaceful. It is advertised as very busy but it wasn't too bad when we went. The timing probably had something to do with it since Sedona starts to warm up after Memorial Day. Highly recommended and I will definitely return, especially once my kids can make the entire trek.

Hiked this with my wife after our hike through Fay Canyon. We didn't make it all the way to the end since it was the second trail of the day, but we did make it more than halfway. It's a great trail once you finally make it past the resort which was somewhat of a distraction. Great views of the red rocks. I am still not sure how to identify the vortex but apparently there is one there. Regardless, I would like to hike it again someday all the way to the end.

This was the first hike of the day that my wife and I took. It was nice and easy. Traversed the 1 mile of maintained trail fairly quickly and then doubled back. The fun started when we found the "secret" trail and started the 0.25 mile climb up the side of the canyon to the natural arch. There is some sort of ruin in the arch. I'm not sure if it is as ancient as some of the comments that I have read. Great views and a definite sense of solitude up there. The climb back down was somewhat tough on the knees but well worth it.

I started the hike from Meridian Rd and McDowell Blvd intersection. I had a little trouble figuring out where to cross the wash to get on the Pass Mtn Trail, but once that task was completed the path was well marked. I chose to follow the trail clockwise since it is supposed to be a little easier. If it is then I am glad that I did.

Overall, the hike was very enjoyable. I did encounter a group of ~30 horseback riders (twice) that caused me to slow down a bit to let them pass. The southern and western sides of the loop are not very isolated from civilization. In fact, don't forget to bring some music to listen to since the shooting range is within hearing range for a good portion of the hike. Once you get to the north and east side, you finally feel like you have left it behind. Great views to the north including the fountain in Fountain Hills.

There are a lot of hills and a lot of rocks. My knees are going to need some recovery time. I plan on doing this one again in the future.

Great hike for the family. It was wet when we hiked it, with a good amount of bugs, but nice scenery and you can see the affects of the Greer fire.
