The usual slipperiness of the section down to the road was mitigated by damp conditions. So nice not to slip and slide down. The walk up the road showed clear signs of 4WD use, at least as far as the single track drop off. Clear sailing up to the cairn marking the descent into the canyon. Lots of water here too. The trail down and up the other side was easy to follow. It seems this is becoming a very popular hike. Cairns marked the way up to the top. Little of the route had any exposure, and while there was a Little Rock scrambling, there was no technical climbing. Mountain Goat flew up it while Kathy and I took our time. We spent time on top pointing out Kitt Peak, Picacho Peak, Baboquivari, and other points north and west to Kathy as it was her first time up. The descent was uneventful and a simple track to follow back. |
