AVOID holidays as Saturday before Memorial Day was the day we left and the lake WAS CROWDED BEYOND BELIEF. No parking, overcrowding, ...My daughter now walked by herself (almost 4!) and my son was in the pack (1.5) and again my wife was expected although 6 months along this time. We didn't make it all the way around but the trail was nice. As noted, it gets hard to read in places and you kind of feel bad creating all kinds of new paths due to the lack of clear trail (actually any number of places getting worn in with two or more semi-clear paths to follow). Loose dirt and scree make for a couple rough spots for little ones or those without proper shoes. Nice thing about this trail, you can't get lost following the lake! |
