The high was 74F so that, with some nice cool breezes, made for really just perfect hiking weather. Lots of folks (especially for a Monday) on the trail coming at us doing the loop in the clockwise direction (I know, right?!). A couple of spry octogenarians from Minnesota/Nebraska on horseback at Whiskey Spring junction. Two separate reported rattlesnake sightings. Left at 10:30AM and returned to TH by 5:00PM with a 30m break for lunch near Crystal Spring. As great a hike as I remember it being, with the many moods and micro-climates of the Superstition wilderness in full effect. |
