Good sites to see. Many places to sit under a tree and watch nature. I only saw three other people that day. This is a good day hike.

This is a very remote hike with the trailhead twenty miles from a paved road. In the first half mile we dropped 800 feet into the canyon. Don't expect to find water until well into Kanab Creek. Gamma Canyon one mile up stream from the confluence of Hack and Kanab has a dripper. The books say Willow Spring is reliable. So is your local sewer treatment plant. BLM has a nice sign posted not to drink the water. Last year there was a dripper in Jumpup Canyon.

Excellent hike, so remote the rabbits weren't afraid of us and the kangroo mice would take up residence in our tents.

I started around the base before climbing to the top. This was shortly after the name change and on this Sunday morning it was standing room only. Coming from a remote area of Arizona and where most hikes done in my area is done alone this was quite different. I found everyone quite friendly and if you stopped to rest you were engaged in a conversation within seconds. I also listened with great interest some of the personal problems people were having at home or at work. They seemed to have a need to tell their friends usually in a loud voice. I don't know if this was a hike or an unique experience in human behavior.

A trip into the upper Sycamore Canyon. The first spring is Kelsey Springs. About a mile down is Babe's Hole and at the bottom is Geromimo Springs. This is a good strong hike.
