A great alternative to the neighboring Finger Rock trail. Excellent desert canyon with plenty of vegetation. Perfect views of Tucson and the gorgeous Tucson mountains and beyond. If you haven't done this trail, put it on your list.

Did this hike as part one of a full day, 3-part hike that took me on the Esperero trail to Cathedral Rock (part 1), down the West Fork trail to Hutch's Pool and Sabino Basin (part 2), then back out to the start via Sabino Canyon (part 3). Total trip was a little over 23 miles and I did it solo in 9 1/2 hours.

The most beautiful section by far was the first section which included the Esperero Trail to Cathedral Rock. Gorgeous, expansive views and a great trail. Steep in sections, flat in others and just challenging enough to keep you going.

The best, hard local trail around! Can't beat the view and the workout. It's ideal for someone wanting to do a challenging 1000ft per mile hike. I'd recommend this hike to anyone. Slow hiking will get even the beginners up this incredible canyon.

Just can't say enough good things about this hike. Very friendly trail with enough challenge to keep you on your toes. Hiked it several times and I'm sure it'll always be on my list to do again. The views are worth every inch and every drop of sweat!
