Overview
Ash Canyon Road (FR 59) at the trail-head has a stout new gate and signage since the fires of June 2011. Bob Thompson Peak is baggable in a small group with a bit of climbing experience/gear to work around the section outlined in the triplog provided by "The Mantis."

Check out the Official Route and Triplog.

Note
This is a moderately difficult hike.

Gate Policy: If a gate is closed upon arrival, leave it closed after you go through. If it is open, leave it open. Leaving a closed gate open may put cattle in danger. Closing an open gate may cut them off from water. Please be respectful, leave gates as found.
