Overview
This 4.5-mile out-and-back lasso-loop near Green Valley is easy on the knees. Set aside two hours for a nice leisurely stroll to free your mind of everyday stress. Dogs on a leash are welcome, and you might meet the world-famous Rowdy. Late autumn to early spring is prime, but the trail is open year-round.

Pro Tip
Bring a set of binoculars for a relaxing morning of birding, while exploring this quiet loop.

Gear
Long pants might be wise. Protecting your skin from the sun is what dermatologists recommend. Lightweight, long-sleeved shirts and pants help cover up your skin in the beautiful outdoors.

Hike
From the Abrego Trailhead, there are no restrooms but feel free to relax at the pavilion with tables and benches. The trail follows along the side of the mighty Santa Cruz River through farmland to Canoa Preserve Park. Beware the claw of the devil and keep an eye out for pecans but take only memories! Loop around the baseball field, cheer on your team of choice, watch out for fly balls and return on the route that brought you to the field of dreams.

Synopsis
Pack a snack and bring a friend to share some quality time. In the end, there'll be peace when you are done.
