I was up that way yesterday. Gates on FR 25 (Mormon Grove) and FR 201 (Peeley, lower gate) were both open but FR 626 was closed. I did not check the higher gate on FR 201.

Moore Creek is between two forest roads that go north from Control Road (FR 144 west or MC and FR31 east of MC) I drove part of 144 many years ago and it was rough and very rocky. I haven't driven 31 but I have seen ATVs on it.

We went up 415 and I think 1439 and hiked off trail over to the DG grave. The ranch was uninhabited when we did this and road had no gate. The connection to the beeline was different - more like T junction. I'm guessing late 80's or early 90s.

Re: Benzine detected in a number of sunblock and sun aftercare products
This thread uses the terms Benzine and Benzene. Note: they are not the same thing. Benzene is a hydrocarbon molecule (C6H6), Benzine is a mixture of hydrocarbons.

Changing my answer after rereading the title and OP.
"Highest Border Elevation"
"what's the highest elevation that occurs on a state border?"
New answer: Chomolungma
