@chumley now that you mention it I remember as a kid seeing a beaver dam down stream from Scott Reservoir.

I am very thankful for the wonderful resource of topo maps so many things on them that you could never find from Sat view. I just think its interesting to note thanks that are off and wondered if you guys had any stories. Which you did! Thanks for sharing guys!

This weekend I was hiking Cherry Creek in the Sierra Ancha I found peppermint and clear signs of beavers but no dam! Thanks guys for all the advice and tips, my buddy got sick so we rescheduled for next month but I am still looking forward to it.
as for a water I decided that I am going to get a UV light pen. they are about $40 and a good fiend recommended them.
