So I have been excited about the wet winter, as I am sure a lot of you are too, for a lot of reasons one being seasonal waterfalls!
I am trying to figure out when the best time to go and which one to go to there are so many! I found "North Fork Falls of Deadman Canyon" and this looks like seasonal waterfall heaven. I noticed though that most people have hiked it in march.
When do you think the best time to go would be? I see a lot of people posting pics of seasonal falls now but is now the best time?
I was thinking we would have another storm and possibly after that would be good but I don't want to wait and miss the prime time...
Do you have any suggestions for seasonal waterfalls other than reavis falls and Park Creek Falls?
I am considering checking some of the seasonal falls in the salt river canyon there are a bunch in there!

This is why March is popular. If there's a good snowpack and then a warmer spring storm with rain, runoff can be impressive.joe bartels wrote:heavy rain on snow is wild

Salome Jug in April is great. If you don't have technical gear, hike to the mouth of the jug and swim/scramble upstream to the falls. You can also start at the upstream end and enjoy the many pools/natural waterslides without having to descend all the way to the technical section.

Right now, all the major drainages in the Ancha and Mazatzals are flowing. Superstitions, too, but those don't have so many actual waterfalls. Pick a creek and go check it out - guarantee you won't be disappointed. I've spent every weekend since the last storm chasing waterfalls.

I would recommend that you don't go chasing waterfalls and stick to the rivers and the lakes that you're used to...

TLC references aside, Perhaps a little less known and a heck of a day hike, there is also Deadman Falls in Mazzies, take Barnhardt or Rock Creek Trail in and visit a few more falls on the way...

Right these places seam to have some of the best seasonal waterfalls I really liked the set that @SAMBA linked the "Ancha Falls" definitly one of the best seasonal waterfalls I have seen because of the size and the red rocks! Is it in cold spring* canyon or another one in the area?Joel Hazelton wrote: Right now, all the major drainages in the Ancha and Mazatzals are flowing.

@pyro4lif
I appreciate the kind words. We kept "Ancha Falls" purposely vague, but I promise you can find it, or something at least as good, if you go to any of those major Sierra Ancha canyons right now
There's running water and cliffs everywhere.

Even Camelback looks like a Congo rain forest with waterfalls galore immediately after a heavy storm hits.
