Nalgene Go-Cup
Nalgene's new catalog came in the mail yesterday. And I have looked at this product at REI. The Nalgene Go-Cup. Has anyone used it? I'm considering it for my camping mug. The old thermal mug from the gas station is a bit warped due to use and too many washingmachine cleanings...so, does anyone have a review? thought? guess?

I saw this at REI too. I thought it was cool as well. Don't remeber the price though. I may end up with one as well.

Nalgene Go-Cup
At REI they run about $18, I considered buying one at Popular, but after seeing it first hand I changed my mind. It looked easy to break and the cap would probably pop off and spill. Decide for yourself, here's the link: http://www.rei.com/cgi-bin/ncommerce3/P ... br=5760726

Yeah that seam in the middle looks a little suspicious...
However, Lexan is strong. But you could nearly get stainless steel for that price.

The more I look at it... it's kinda cool looking. But I'd never drink anything in that small of quantity. You know I was born on 7-Eleven, had to make the big switch when I moved to AZ!

As the owner and user of one of those HUGE Xtreme Gulp cups, I can relate Joe...in college I became addicted to the Diet Pepsi Super Big Gulp (only 75cents)....anyway...I've been using the Go-Cup for about a month now...I bring it to work each day...either ice coffee or hot coffee...It actually does keep the coffee warm...I like it because the thermal cup I usually use camping keeps things hot for HOURS! It never cools off...the Go-Cup is a good product...I've knocked it over a few times, and with the little lid on it, it doesn't spill. AN UPDATE!
OK, thought I'd pass along a product review.
DON'T BUY THE NALGENE GO-CUP.
Mine didn't last 6 months. There are some huge design problems
...the little flap that holds the lid down when you're trying to drink...broke off after 2 months of use.
...the whole "thermal" issue...timed it last time out...hot cocoa from almost boiling to cold before breakfast was finished cooking...doesn't keep hot drinks hot for very long...at least not compared to the cheap gas station thermal cups.
...spillage...fluid pours out fast if cup is knocked over, the lid doesn't stay on.
...the narrow base, wide top design works great for car cup holders, not so swell on the ground.
Thus concludes the public service announcement.

go cup
Gee Colin: that's too bad, I was thinking about one. I figured out that four Venti Iced Caramel Frappucino's per day is $6,764.47 per year, tax included; so I need to figure out how to make my own. I'd thought the go cup would be just the thing.
Starbucks sells a nice thermos cup, stainless, large. But, the dang thing is right handed, and when you pick it up left handed, the drink hole is on the top, not the bottom and the coffee gets in your eye. DAMHIKT.....-Randy

Randy, I was disappointed as well...seems to me to be a product aimed at people who want to look like they do stuff outside, (like the models on the cover of Outside magazine) rather than for people to use the product outside...it goes into the "don't use anymore" gear bin.
