Quirks ( not a HAZ Tracks issue )
- Nexus w/Jellybean off line maps do not work, consider upgrading to 4.4 or higher
- Moto X not working? try "Device only" rather than "High accuracy"
- Android 4.1.1 map freezes, upgrade your device to 4.1.2 or higher
iPhone only works with screen on or continuously moving
CHUMS nailed it. Apparently I need to mimic breaks on Squaw when testing. People are gonna think I'm sick but I'll do it for HAZ. It will be a couple weeks to get a fix in.
Really wish Cannondalekid or FOTG would fix the quick reply like it used to be... annoying!
I just started using HAZ Trks on my Galaxy Nexus, Kitkat 4.2.1. Works great to track and follow except I can't get maps to cache for offline use. I've checked that app settings are correct, I've got about 10 GB available storage, I've tried soft reboots, etc. Each time I set route to follow later, and then switch to airplane mode, I lose the map. Can anyone help? Thanks much.
-> Pick your track
-> Select - Drive to or begin
-> Select - Follow
-> Select - Set
-> Select Okay -> calculating, wait until importing is 100%. This could take a couple of minutes.
once it says "100% available until changed" it's OK to go to Airplane Mode
-> Select - begin activity
There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness."

Unfortunately, it's a Nexus thing. I have the same issue with my Jellybean version. Joe and I had this discussion a couple weeks ago.
For me, sometimes it's just as much about the journey as the destination. Oh, and once in awhile, don't forget to look back at the trail you've traveled.
You are the second ( tibber beat me to the post ) to report this with a "nexus" on "jellybean". Either an issue in Nexus or that device/os combo.
If your carrier offers the upgrade to 4.4 or 5.0 it may resolve.
On Kyocera w/Ice Cream Sandwich I noticed the maps would get bumped from memory if I used other apps so I didn't use anything before the hike. On Note II w/Kit Kat either I haven't had that issue or its so rare it slips my memory.
HAZ Tracks 1.8.20 for iOS sent* to iTunes
Based on iOS 7.1 iPhone & iOS 8.1 iPad tests...
- continues running with screen off in background with music in foreground playing music
- splits and alert audio is heard while music is playing
* current iTune approval time is hovering around 7 days
- 8.2 for iWatch integration just came out today, hopefully it wasn't a waste of a couple days of mind numbing coding
Today I got a chance to try out my first SmartPhone and best of all, HAZ Tracks! (This thread isn't about phones so I'll skip those details)
Although I have plenty to learn yet, HAZ Tracks worked great the first time!
Thanks Joe! :worthy:
If there are any HAZ Tracks users who have yet to donate for a job well done, I'd strongly urge you to do so...
It's gotta be worth at least $25, don'cha think?
