Oak Tree Fire burning near Sonoita

Post by Wyoming »

News reports mention a 2000 acre fire near Sonoita. About 10 miles north of town along Rt 83. This appears to be within a few miles of the AZT.

Actually if the descriptions of where the fire is are correct (and my map work also) then the fire is less than 2 miles from the trail and maybe just a mile.

Looks like they are building lines along Davidson to the north, Hwy 83 to the west, and Empire to the south.

With the AZT on the other side of Hwy 83, I'd feel pretty good about them holding it on the other side. But anybody in the area over the next few days may have serious smoke to deal with.

I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.
