Be careful out there. DPS has updated their "colors". I can't link the article from Arizona Capitol Times but their new cars have a different color pattern. Not that any of our HAZ members would push the limit on the way home. NaH!!!
A prototype of 90 new vehicles coming to the department is painted dark blue with copper lettering and accents, the Arizona Capitol Times reported (http://bit.ly/1CUunyE ).
These vehicles replace part of the white-and-blue-striped fleet and say "State Trooper" on the side.

Wow - they tell me I have to pay to access their site. You are amazing. I want to see what they look like in the rear view mirror. Before their flashing lights to on.

They are thinking stealth. They are thinking that smart people will think these colors are stupid. AND THEN THEY NAIL YOU!! Sorry, I didn't get to be this old by being stupid and by not being "Situationally Aware"!!! and a little paranoid.

I occasionally see unmarked DPS cars pulling people over. Saw one a couple days ago on 89 between Flag and Page. It was a dark color--it may even have been black. And like the ones depicted in the article, it had no light bar. That might be scary for some people if they are pulled over. If you are not aware there are unmarked cop cars and/or cop cars without light bars, how do you know it's actually a cop?
I agree regarding the heat factor also. That was the first thing I thought of when I saw the photos.

Reminds me of the New Mexico State Police cars. If stealth is what they are after, and I doubt that is it, they won't get it in that paint job. Light bar, or not.
