Superstition Peak 5057 Sept 13 5am

Post by oceanzhang »

Hello everyone, this is my first post here.

Anyone want to hike Supe Peak 5057 with me Sunday, 9/13 from Carney Springs TH? I need to start early (5am) so I can finish before 11am, otherwise I might be vulture food. I've never hiked this trail before, but it takes me a little over 3 hours for a Flat Iron round trip, so I'm giving myself up to 6 hours for this guy

I would actually be hard pressed to name more than a few true mountains that require ropes to get to the summit. Nearly every mountain in AZ has non-technical scrambling routes to the top.

Maybe you are referring the peaks that have established trails to the top that at times get pretty steep? Off trail scrambling can be pretty brutal (cactus, catclaw, etc).

Just to pitch in with suggestions that are almost in season: Lots of people seem to enjoy Mazatzal Peak, and you might like Peeley and Sheep as well, as well as perhaps North Peak and others near the Mazzy Divide trail.
