I am heading into Aravaipa in November from the west for three days, two nights. I'd like to camp in the same place for both nights, preferably off the beaten track. If you would care to share your secret great camp spot with me, I'd be most grateful. I read one account that suggested hiking the entire canyon on Day 1 and doubling back the same day to camp, then spend the next couple days exploring the side canyons.
Would like to hear your thoughts.

We liked the camp spot just SW of the confluence with Horse Camp. Days of exploring nearby.

Ditto to Joe's comment. It's not "off the beaten track", but it's a great camp. It's kinda hard to get off the beaten track in a narrow canyon - and I'm pretty sure you're not allowed to camp in side canyons.

Re: Aravaipa Canyon camp site & exploring advice
Joe & cactuscat echo my thoughts. Was in Aravaipa in early October, camped here. Makes for a perfect basecamp. Plentiful shade, easy access to the creek. Don't forget your insect repellant The Canyon is 10mi long, so you'd be logging about 16mi hiking the length & doubling back to Horse Camp. Spotted a bobcat about ½mi upcreek from Horse Camp Canyon. Happy trails.
