Campaign Trail to Pinto Divide, AZ :: Question by louie
Wondering if there are some nice campsites along the stream during the beginning of this hike along the campaign trail. I'd like to backpack in with my kids 10 and 11, but not too far back and would like to be around water. Much thanks :-)

@louie
You will have plenty within the first 1.5 mile. Two nice ones before you get to the intersection with Reavis Gap Trail, and one immediately to your right after you hit the intersection with Reavis Gap trail as well. Also you have one about 3 tenths of a mile past Reavis Gap north on Campaign Trail, its on right hand side. I had spent sometime building it up, but a pissed off hunter with trail cam destroyed site, but still noticeable. If you need lats and longs let me know, but I don't think you can miss them, all within stone throw of creek. Remember this time of year road in is pretty close to 4wd high clearance only, especially, if winter rains ever come. Some sandy spots, a steep climb or two and multiple creek crossings.
I have some coordinates for some very meager ruin sites very near as well, the kiddos might have fun looking at all the pot sherds...let me know via PM.
One of my favorite areas, I have spent a lot of time out there. The trail was also recently cleared by the CCC last year. You will have solid trail to about 1.5 miles below Brushy Spring on Campaign, after that it might get a tad cat-clawy for the little ones...be kind to my area and LNT
