In the photo below ( photo is long gone ) you'll notice security here is tigher than the Mexico border.
Dang, FBI for a forest road!

no, I draw the line at "State Police"
I mean the FBI is one thing, but... State Police :o

I'm really curious as to what's considered trespassing
Is it just the road?
It doesn't say no-vehicles so I assume that includes walking and biking?
but where's this boundary, can I walk beside the road :D
Seriously though, would the hills to the east be off limits

are we really concerned about terrorist blowing up the Mormon Flat Dam and creating a flash trickle through Tempe Town Lake

guess I should just call

They closed the road prior to 9-11. At the time the were using an area near Coronado Mesa as a construction yard for repairs at the dam and they have not reopened the road. Coronado Mesa was a neat place to be at night, you could lay down and whitetail deer would browse around you.

Is it possible to drive this portion of the road to Mormon Flat Dam? ( https://goo.gl/maps/6qbGRXvBiTR2 )
I want to backcountry camp out here this weekend, but I'm not sure if that's possible.

@azwater
I haven't driven it in years but the only gate I see is pretty far down. There may be signs prohibiting travel before the gate though.

Switch to satellite view to see the gate

I miss driving down this road to the end, sometimes parking on the bridge late at night. Something I had been doing since driving a Jeep and learning from driving an old Chevy pickup to not push in the clutch all the way and pausing before shifting. I drove down there before the improvements to the dam and the road. At one location the road was carved into the side of a cliff and during a monsoon rain I parked and the rain was like being behind a waterfall.
