Hello! I'm looking to do a two-night backpacking trip with a group of 4 newbie backpackers (have a few trips under our belts) next weekend. Been exploring the Supes lately but it's getting too hot and too little water around. I wanted to find something up north with plenty of water. Two nights and maybe up to 9 miles per day if there isn't too much elevation gain.
Is it still too cold for Baldy?
Is it too hot to try Sedona's Secret Mountain Wilderness area?
Also looking at doing a portion of the Highline...
Any recommendations or advice?
Thanks!!
Backpacking recommendation for next weekend?

@hanmart
Yes, no, yes. You listed several good options. Others could include lower West Clear Creek, Hells Hole Salome Wilderness, and maybe start at Horton Creek then up to the spring then over to Christopher creek along the Highline to camp then back down Derrick trail on your return. My ideas usually involve some fishing opportunities. Higher elevations in the Supes are still good. I'm sure you'll get many more suggestions from others.

@ALMAL
Thanks for the feedback. On second look Secret Canyon looks too short for a 2 night trip but I am definitely looking some more into the others you mentioned. West Clear Creek sounds really nice.
Thanks again, much appreciated!

Re: Backpacking recommendation for next weekend?
I usually prefer West Clear Creek when it is 100+ in the valley, it may be a bit cold right now since you have frequent crossings.
The eastern Supes are higher than the west. Reavis Ranch is nice this time of year. Also consider the Mazatzals, such as a loop between Y bar, Barnhart and the MDT.
