Flatlanders looking for another hike.

Post by mortcom »

In AZ for the week. We hiked to 5024 above flatiron on Monday. We're staying in fountain hills with the in-laws and hoping to do another hike before we leave on Saturday. Any suggestions? Less driving/ more hiking preferred. I love this site!

@mortcom
You might try something in McDowell Mountain Regional Park

Wow = that is a 5. Maybe over the mountain to Tom Thumb from the Gateway. Some exercise but not up to your challenge. Or you can head up the Beeline to Ballantine Trail.
Anybody can make a hike harder. The real skill comes in making the hike easier.

My 13 yr. old son and I will definitely turn it down a notch or two. My 50 plus bones are feeling it. McDowell mountain park may well fill the bill. We will also be back in March so I'm stockpiling ideas. :-)

If you're staying in Fountain Hills, you might try Ballantine-- the eastern trailhead is right on the 87.
