I found a blue stuff sack laying on the the Frog Tanks trail in Rogers Canyon, about 1 mile or so north of Angel Basin.

Re: Found: Blue nylon stuff sack on Frog Tanks Trail
There was a big pile of trash down there (unfortunately) when me and @The_N went through in January. Did you see the ripped up sleeping bag and garbage spread out across the trail, or has that been cleaned up?
It looked like someone was camping there for a night or two, then walked out without taking any of their things...
Maybe that was apart of the garbage.

This stuff? Been there at least since early 2014.

I did see the trashed out campsite; however, this stuff sack appears to be new and not weathered, so I don't think it was part of that camp.

@The_Eagle
Whoever the horseman was who went through here, had a bad time, one horse clearly came up lame and there was evidence of some distress, including a few arrows drawn in the ground, messages to another person in the group, more gear further down Frog tanks and some medical supplies used to treat and injured animal. Our theory was, all gear was dropped off one horse to get it out safely or alive and the guy walked out with horse, or rode another one out..We repacked all the gear and set on the large boulder beside trail, thinking he would come back for it, but alas that has never happened...

Since May of 2012, Jim and I were probably some of the first few to come across it I imagine judging from some dates on the bread and other perishable items that were dated about two weeks before we came across the scene.This stuff? Been there at least since early 2014

While hiking and backpacking the Sups I have found tons of abandoned gear and a few of the packs were so still loaded I turned them over to the Sheriff's office in case the person or persons came up missing.

Unless one is on horseback, packing that junk out would be a huge undertaking.

Re: Found: Blue nylon stuff sack on Frog Tanks Trail
Sounds like a mission to me. Does anyone have a waypoint? If the FS knows exactly where it is they may find some volunteers who would go in and clean it up. Often they get requests for projects so a list of these things is good. May not happen overnight but in time.

Re: Found: Blue nylon stuff sack on Frog Tanks Trail
Couple of questions. Can you get a horse trailer into Rogers trail head? I have a 23 foot trailer with a 4x4 diesel and a fair amount of guts behind the wheel. Has anyone seen a horse\-trailer in there before? How is the trail ? My mules are the 4x4 version of the equine world but don't do well boulder hopping or with excessive tree-fall. Looks like 10 to 12 miles round trip which depending of the trail would be a good day ride. I have packed out stuff for the park service and pima couty sheriff dept. My plan is to present it to our group as service project.

@BrettVet
Yes on trailer into Rogers Trough, but Woodbury would be your better starting point. Rogers Canyon is not the most horse friendly trail, whereas, going in JF and from Woodbury would be much more horse and horse trailer friendly...
