Plus, I figured that with the Weather finally getting nice, some would be Eyeing this Peak! What better day to do it??? Join Us! Plenty of Heads Up Time, so put it on your Calendar! Last Year was pretty Tame, since I was still in Rehab for my Ankle, so this Year I thought we were Overdue for something a little more "Strenuous".... And it is all Off-Trail... The Good News is although there's a bit of AEG on this one, it's Short.... Hope you'll Join us for a Party on a Peak and Ring in the New Year in Style! More Details to Follow as we get Closer...

For those that are "On the Fence", maybe think about Committing in the next couple of Days??? I'm starting the Shopping List and although I usually plan for the "Interested" Column just in case it's a last minute Decision on your Part, it's nice if those that KNOW they WON'T be coming, to go ahead and Cancel so I'm not left with a bunch of Extra, including Champagne, which will end up in the Trash..... A more Accurate Head Count of "Committed" is always nice too, so we know who to expect at the TH...
9:00 A.M. Start Time at the "TH".... If you would like to Carpool with someone, at least Part Way, message me or throw it in the Thread and we'll see if we can get it arranged.... I am picking up 1 for sure, possibly 2 along the I-10 Corridor....

Still plan to go, but having never been on one of these, I was not aware of the party stuff. I am not interested in the champagne, so don't worry about that with me. I will bring my own lunch and water.

I bring Non-Alcoholic Beverage as well... I'm not a big Champagne Drinker at all, but it really tastes Great after you earn a Peak like this.... It's actually Refreshing.... Must be the Tiny Bubbles....

Seems to be every other Year... Last Year we had the Tail End of a Rainy Winter Storm. 2 Years before that, we had Snow the Night before... lol

I wonder how bad the air will be out there? The filth seems to travel down slope in the Gila/ Salt River Valley, and the air was really bad out near Woolsey and Signal Mountain last month. Hopefully not too bad Monday, out around Saddle.
@Jim_H - I'm wondering the same thing. But most of the pollutants this weekend are man made (smoke from backyard fire pits and fireplaces), so hopefully that far west it's not too bad.
Just a Thought, but if you guys can plan on just a little Extra Room in your Packs....

Pam, I agonized a little over this because I wanted to go. I know I could leave Needles at about 5 a.m. and make it there in time for the hike. I just wish I could auto-relocate! So, anyway, I had to realize, it's just too far for me to go--it's a matter of the cost of gas, plus wear and tear on vehicle. If I had other business over there it would make sense, but I don't. Anyway have fun, and Happy New Year!

Sorry, can't make it this year. I was tempted to drive out for the celebration alone but an injury suffered yesterday has gotten painful today. I'm staying home. Hope y'all have a great time. Happy New Year!
