Aravaipa Plant Identification

Post by hippiepunkpirate »

I'm trying to identify the green groundcover I saw at Aravaipa a couple weeks ago.

In this photo, the greenery on the righthand side: [ photo ]

In this photo, the groundcover in the immediate foreground (looks to be a different plant than the other photos because the leaves are rounded instead of pointy): [ photo ]

Any help is much appreciated!

Yup watercress. Exotic to Aravaipa but does grow there now.

Never mind. I thought it looked like Canyon Ragweed, but the stem is wrong.

The big one in photo 2 looks like it is in the rhubarb family, but I don't have a good plant book by my side.

In the first photo it isn't solid watercress, there looks to be some poison ivy and one other "water plant I don't know the name" (edit: maybe some type of stinging nettle?) of mixed in.
