The photos I saw appeared to be in the Bushnell Tanks area of Sycamore Creek, and a quote in the article stated that they wanted to "climb up to the highway" but were unable to. So I think the media reports are a little bit short on details.

CAMRA has more details on their fb page - definitely wasn't 'off Mt Ord'. Sounds like the group did a couple of things wrong, like splitting the 24 into 4 chunks, which complicated the rescue.

After reading the CAMR account it almost sounds like > [ Sycamore Canyon - Bushnell to Round Valley ] From the CAMR Mission Report: "Yesterday morning two dozen members and leaders of a youth hiking group were attempting a day hike of a section of Sycamore Creek from Sunflower, AZ to the south."
