I agree.. Although this Site makes things easier for people to find Places, it still takes a lot of Time and Research to find Areas. People had to put that Time in just so those Places could be on here. It doesn't hurt for People to still spend some of their Own Time to find things and get Information. Wrong fire...it is the Spring Fire near La Veta Pass. The 416 fire was likely caused by a Durango & Silverton train.

I was unexpectedly affected by a fire on the Isle of Skye last month. We had returned to within a couple miles of our hotel when we were forced to reverse course an encircle the entire island to reach it from the other side, which took several hours. A bunch of homes were evacuated, along with many backpackers and climbers. The fire was started by backpacker burning toilet paper, which quickly spread to into the heather, which was tinder-dry from a long stretch of abnormally warm, dry weather. It swept across the hilltops and into the forest before dying out. They don't have the equipment or people to deal with big fires. There were wildfires burning elsewhere in Scotland at the same time.

Yup... you can access 300 from the 260 if you want to hike anything up there in Apache-Sitgreaves-- except Promontory.

Returning home from the valley the Bears Fire in the Sierra Anchas was putting up a large smoke cloud this afternoon.
