Possible AZT thru-hike in Spring 2019
I am considering a thru-hike of the AZT in the spring of next year. Is anyone else considering this? Would you like to chat further? I have hiked and backpacked a fair amount, but I have never done a thru-hike and would prefer to go with a partner or at least just have someone to brainstorm with. Thanks.

In the same boat here! I'm not from the SW, any word on how the winter has been? I'm slightly worried its too early of a start date (unless winter was light) but thats when works best for me.CaptainCox wrote:I am looking to start mid to end of February.

@SANDMANATHF
At 5000 ft we got about 9 inches of snow, it when snowed in the valley (Phoenix) area, other then that it's been dry since.

@SANDMANATHF I’m in Yuma and it’s been pretty mild here. That is the best time for me to be able to go.

Probably see you out there, Sue. My flight arrives in Phoenix @ 2:30 pm on March 3rd. I’m still working on transportation down to the trailhead. Open to suggestions.

I'll be landing in Tucson on February 21st at 2:00pm, if anyone wants to share a ride to the border!
