I have a question about where this trail begins. Is it -really- at the end of 142B or 142J. Hike description says 142B but driving directions lead you to 142J

guessing you are referring to [ Calloway Trail #33 ]
There are 3 mapping options in the directions section.
[MapDEX] [Bing] [Google] MapDEX uses google
Google is slightly off or has received too many complaints about 142B being a rocky mess.
Bing takes you to NF-142B, some just hike the road since it is rocky.

The roads in that area are very unfriendly to cars, and it is recommended to hike the road in any vehicle which is not suitable for hard off-road driving.

Mountain bikes can be fun in this area too. I think driving in from 87 to 142 is a not as rough as coming in from 260 to 144/149? 149 is usually terrible.
