Sedona trailhead closures
Greetings all, I was trying to see if Sedona area trailheads were still closed, specifically the Red Rock Crossing area. The FS website is of course obscure and has no listings of the original closure, at least not on the 3 Red Rock area pages I visited. Any update would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Re: Sedona trailhead closures
@The_Dude I’ve found the “Check your Rec” link found on the homepage to be useful and accurate across all the forest sites. Just zoom the map to what you’re looking for.
https://www.fs.usda.gov/recmain/coconino/recreation
I recommend opening any links from the map in a new tab or you lose your map zoom/location when you go “back”.

I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

Re: Sedona trailhead closures
the list under the map is crystal clear if you're familiar with the trails

Yeah, I don't find the list to be helpful at all. For example -- I had no idea that area was called Crescent Moon. I bet a lot of people don't know where Call of the Canyon Trailhead is either! But the map is very useful for me. Some people don't do maps well and prefer lists though. It's nice they provide both options.

If you don't find what you are looking for on the Coconino NF website, just give them a phone call...I have found that the folks at the Coconino NF Ranger Districts are very helpful whenever I have called them

Re: Sedona trailhead closures
Thanks all for the responses. I guess I was too specific about checking the Red Rock district instead of the Coconino homepage, the map and trail listings are helpful. There is no specific info on either about Red Rock Crossing, so I will be calling the rangers tomorrow I suppose. Thanks!

Red Rock Crossing is officially a picnic site called Crescent Moon and is listed as closed. It certainly can't hurt to call, but if you hike to the area from a non-developed site, I wouldn't expect any issues (Baldwin and Templeton trails are open). But I wouldn't cross to the north side of the creek or you'll be in the closed picnic site.
FWIW, the City of Sedona has asked tourists not to visit.

@chumley
My plan was to access from the south by Baldwin, so it might still work but I will call. I know Sedona doesn't want visitors right now, but this weekend is the anniversary of my wife's mother passing away a few years ago, so she was hoping to head up there to pay respect to where her ashes are spread.
