Salt Fire
Another fire on the Tonto. North of Globe, I guess. I think most have lost interest in fires, or atleast about this area.
https://srp-mkt-prod1-m.adobe-campaign. ... ame=DM9921
SRP says it has a transmission line out of service, so there is that. I keep my A/C at 84 in the day 81 at night, so I'm good.

Re: Salt Fire
@AZClaimjumper
For the record I am from Phoenix, lol. I only used California as an example because they actually had to resort to some rolling powers outages last week. I fully understand the issue in Arizona is tied to an exceptional event. But this does seem to be the second straight summer of exceptional events surrounding Phoenix, ie low elevation fires in our dry deserts. It seems if these types of fire seasons are going to be more common place than issues related to the grid like this could seemingly become more prevalent. That is really all I was lamenting about. I have dealt with rolling blackouts in two countries Ghana and Iraq, so it caught my attention when two neighboring states were potentially resorting to it and in the same week. l also got the email Jim got and I am also cheap and keep my AC in the low 80s over the summer ( @Chumley can confirm) and never really gave it a thought. None of my post was meant to stir any kind of sentiment about current or past administrations, immigration policies, or taxes.

Re: Salt Fire
Also nearby to the Salt are the Gin and Griffith fires--- they missed naming the latter shoulda' used lime or tonic for that one IMO. Also two small fires in Rincons' Spud Rock and Mica, at this time the AZT is not impacted but that could change, multiple trails closed I believe on the north and west side?
And last but not least the Teapot fire SE superior between Sleeping Beauty and Teapot mtns. Lots of neat stuff in that area, bummer.

Re: Salt Fire
I think we should get out electricity from vortexes, but the mystics in Sedona keep voting against this limitless power source! If it was good enough for ancient aliens, it should be good enough for Arizona! And, besides, not all vortexes are in beautiful places, some are actually in gas stations and near the airport, too. Heck, there was one right in the middle of the new Taco Bell they built 10 years ago before it closed a few years back. Yeah, limitless celestial power from a vortex.

Aliens love Taco Bell. Cheap, easy, convenient meal option and open late for when you've had a long day of performing "The Tests".

Re: Salt Fire
@wildwesthikes And it explains “the tests” too. After eating Taco Bell what alien wouldn’t be galactically curious to stick a probe up there to figure out how the hell it gets through, and the damage it causes along the way?!

Re: Salt Fire
Who names these fires?? For a feature I suppose. I think the next duo needs to be named Smoking and Weed. Can see ADOT signage now=== "do not report smoking weed" and " hwy 87 closed due to smoking weed". Or Area 51--- " all activities such as camping, hiking, driving, even breathing are prohibited in Area 51" OMG I am so bored and really need to get out right now. Oh, and so unrelated just got my custom bumper stickers "2020- Please send Aliens, or Jesus Christ, or a Giant Meteor. Or all three, thank you. "

Fires are typically named by the lookout who calls it in, dispatcher who receives a report, or first responder on scene, usually by finding a nearby named landmark.

When I bought my newer RV this year I got a bumper sticker for it right away. I call it The Space Station. I will let you know if any aliens contact me.

Oh, har! Well I'm using my phone right now. So I don't really know how to put a picture of the Space Station on here. But it is a 34 foot Class A Georgie Boy with a slide. 2001, but in very good condition, very shiny, decals all looking good. Lots bigger and roomier than the Beast. But alas, I will no longer be able to rent myself out as a prop for Breaking Bad. (My previous rig, the Beast, was a 27 foot 1989 class C motorhome.)
When I first told my daughter about it, I told her it had a slide. Totally dumbfounded, she said, "It has a SLIDE?" She was picturing a houseboat, with a slide into the water! I had to explain about slideouts...

I like that reference to Breaking Bad because I know what you had! I owned a 1999 Georgie Boy 35 1/2 foot with two slide outs. It was a fine vehicle and I bought it used and sold in one year later only because I know longer had a use for it. Only lost $ 2,000 in one year. It had the Ford V10 engine and it worked very well for us. Only problem I had was that when I put the jacks down it wasn't level. Fixed that one afternoon by re-mounting the censor device which cost me nothing but my time. Congrats and best of luck to ya.
