SR87 - aka Beeline Hwy

Post by chumley »

The engineering cluster :pk: that is the entire Slate Creek area is once again going under the ADOT knife.

The Beeline will be reduced to one lane of traffic in each direction until fall so that crews can once again attempt to prevent the whole area from sliding down the hill.

So, be prepared for slow traffic in the general Sunflower / Mt. Ord / Slate Creek area (about 20 miles south of Payson).

It goes a lot faster if you leave on the wings and engines.

I used to see them in western WY doing electronic low-level bomb runs out in the middle of nowhere. I swear I could feel them before I heard or saw them. And you could recognize the pilot.

87 is closed between Shea Blvd and the loop 202 due to a downed powerline and fallen powerline tower. No ETA on the clean up or reopening, initially projected to be at least several days.
