Who's The Next Harvey?
On a different forum the topic came up that certainly by now, someone has eclipsed all of the hiking and climbing that Harvey Butchart did over 50 years ago. Does anyone know of another extreme Grand Canyon explorer that's been more places than Harvey?

There's probably a handful of contenders whose names you recognize. And then there's probably a larger group of people who aren't gifted writers, haven't published any books, don't have websites, and just enjoy the experience of exploring and discovery on their own, leaving the same experience for those who will come after them.
I'm not sure what my spirit animal is, but I'm confident it has rabies.

Pretty sure there were a few before Harvey too.

Some of them may prefer to stay under the radar. Somebody pursuing that sort of goal might fear the attention could cause interference with the pursuit.chumley wrote: ↑Oct 10 2022 8:54 am There's probably a handful of contenders whose names you recognize. @Heliops
I probably agree for this day and time. I have a bit more respect for those that traveled with no tech, little more than the clothes on their back, seeking water and food where they could find it; and still making it out alive. Plenty died I am sure. Those that made it were pretty incredible folks in my book. I've corresponded a time or two with both men and they are top of their game for sure.
