I am not totally in agreement with this list. It only mentions medium to large dogs. There seems to be a misunderstanding about small dogs not being able or capable of hiking. Both of my little guy's, Joseph and Rudy were and are strong hikers. Joseph did two 14er's with me at age 13. I have been asked more than once, " did you carry him up here?"

They are so smart. Yours sounds unusually intelligent.
I really loved my Bubba dog. I have to admit that I cried for 2 weeks after we had to put him down. Much more than I cried for family members who passed. Maybe that's kind of sad, but I did love that dog. But that doesn't mean I want another one.
