Aravaipa Conditions
I've got permits for Aravaipa for June and was just getting the reports of the 2006 flood damage. So how bad is it? Any first hand experience pre and post flood? I'm still going, just wondering what to expect.

My daughter and I hiked from the west end about a month ago and it's pretty washed out for the first mile or so. Once we got into the narrower parts, it was scoured out, but obviously the cliffs are still there and gorgeous. There were more green trees left than what I was led to believe by the BLM. We went to approx. Javelina canyon before turning around. Looked very different (more open) than what I remembered. Still very worth doing in my opinion, if only to see the power of a large flash flood.
I just uploaded some post flood pics, should be available w/in 24 hrs.

Re: Aravaipa Conditions
In response to jaybird's reply:
I am backpacking Aravaipa May 19 to 21. I was there last May and it was a paradise to me. I took some pictures of Cottonwoods that must have been 5 feet in diameter. Hard to believe they are gone. I plan on posting some before and after photos early June. I have to check out jckc's pics.
