OK... We live in the desert ( most of us ).... For some reason or another we are here.

It hasnt rained yet this year.
We cannot enjoy most of the state due to drought.
We cant really go outside for more than an hour due to the extreme heat.
We may be facing rolling blackouts this year to due energy cunsumption.
Vanilla Coke is nasty.

But would you trade it all to live somewhere else?

Gotta admit! I'm cravin' some tasty waves in Santa Cruz right about now! But I could never live there as the winters are drab. It's so damp there you get mold in your closet if you forget to air it out.

Thanks for the Vanilla Coke tip. I hate to admit but I'm a Diet Coke junkie. I bought three cases of that lemon "acid" crap when it first came out. Just last week, after what, six months, I threw it all out.

Cakewalk, I have lived in Tennessee, Okalahoma, Nebraska, North Dakota, Florida and Arkansas. I have traveled through most of the other states as well as Canada and Mexico extensively. I know the beauty of those other areas and the problems or drawbacks.

What I don't know is another state with such a diverss and fantastic landscape. We are also in such a great position here to go in a lot of excellent directions to find new adventure.

Yes we are in one of those unfortunate times of drought. Not good for the subtropical desert known as the Sonoran but like all things, this will pass and someday Cakewalk, you will have a couple of grandchildren on your knee saying: "I remember way back to the summer of '02. That was a nasty one kids. Why even old Teva Joe seemed a bit bewildered back then but old Hoolie could not be stopped. There was a man who went to the bottom of the Grand Canyon to find himself a drink."

12000 years ago this was a lush tropical landscape with fanstastic beings throughout. What I would give to hike through it then.

Never having lived anywhere else it never crossed my mind. My Mom tells about them bringing water in on the train when she was a kid. Perhaps we are spoiled--they are still letting us water every other day! We sure have a bunch of dirty cars up here though.

I'm a Pepsi man, too, when I drink soft drinks, which is rare these days. Never liked Coke much, except over crushed ice, from a soda fountain. But then, Pepsi's even better that way, too!!

I remember "Po Folks" in Oklahoma served RC.

Back in 1967 in Dakota City Nebraska, RC Cola was just 10 cents for a 16oz glass bottle. That was the best cola I have ever had. We lived right by the Missouri river and life was good.
