Backpacking ideas?

Post by jchang16 »

A friend and I are planning a overnite trip in the middle of next month. However, we are having a hard time trying to choose a place to hike due to the fires and vast amounts of places to go in the state. We have done fossil springs, west clear creek, and some of the superstitions. We would like to do something different (Chiricahuas or San Francisco Peaks?) with some water. I'm sure all of you have favorite backpacking trips and I would appreciate any, and all, ideas!

Hi, welcome to HAZ!

The only thing close is Wet Beaver & West Clear Creek. Otherwise you'll need to travel 5-6 hours one way.

Araviapa Canyon, but call and get a permit ASAP. Scenery wise, to me, it is second only to the grand canyon in Arizona. It's 10 miles long with 9 side canyons to explore.
