You should be able to get a walk up permit for the people that no-showed. Only 1 date in all of 2007 went by without any permits going unused.

Overnight permits are a little harder than day hike slots to get but with just a little bit of flexibility you really should be able to get a slot.

Thanks for the info. After some searching I actually found the number of permits that went unused last year. WOW, alot goes unused.

Yeah I was really surprised by the number as well. For my Saturday overnight permit, 15 people had called and canceled between Thursday and Saturday morning, thats not even counting no-shows.
