Re: The geology of Siphon Draw
Might want to think that out in this infant stage.
Seems everything should fit under
Igneous
Sedimentary
Metamorphic
Anything else would be an adjective of the object
ie: Flora => Bloom Color [Red]
Flora for instance could have been setup better with number of petals, height, width, tube structure, etc.
On the same token, it may be better to go the other route which is the true sense of labeling in how google organizes
In which case we'd need another category such as
Igneous
Sedimentary
Metamorphic
Adjective, descriptive or such

Re: Geology
@Joe - There are the 3 types of rocks. But then there are the Processes - tectonic, volcanic, weathering. Processes create the "Great Circle of Rock Life" where Igneous become Sedimentary and Sedimentary get an Accretionary Wedgie and become Metamorphic then metamorphic get vulcanized and become Igneous and so on and so on. And the Processes create Structures - such as craters, caldera, synclines, etc. Keep in mind that I'm a hiker who knew virtually nothing about geology before reading a couple of books over the last month.
I have added a few Structures, such as the Chevron Folds on Barnhardt and Fish Creek. Many structures - such as the Inner Basin Caldera - really don't show up well in photos. Some structures such as Craters and Domes are Extrusive Igneous rocks that have been magma.
All this being said, I really don't know the best way to "organize" the section.
But it sounds like Rob is volunteering for Admin duty. ;)

Anybody can make a hike harder. The real skill comes in making the hike easier.

Re: Geology
I was a geology major in college before switching my minor to my major (bio) and vice versa.

I think there's more than 3 types of rock:
Alternative, classic, heavy metal, grunge
