Re: Catalina State Park to the ski area in March?
April 25th may work. I need to check my class schedule, but it looks good right now.
I plan on doing at least 2 big hikes in the Tucson area in the fall on the same weekends as a few U of A football games. Preferably on Sundays after Sat games.
Mount Lemmon via Catalina State Park
Rincon Peak
There are some other possibilities, but there's obviously time to think about it...

I could be interested later in the fall, depending on what is going on at the time (I've got a rim 2 rim planned in Oct as well)

Re: Catalina State Park to the ski area in March?
I changed it to April 25th. Don't forget about another good one in the fall (hopefully on the same weekend as an Arizona football home game).

Re: Catalina State Park to the ski area in March?
We could have a whole mess of HAZ'ers in the Old Pueblo this weekend. Maybe a trip to Rigo's is in order to show the Valley folks what real Mexican food is all about. I'm already thinking about a "Mucho Very Good" or the "Dan Eckstrom Special." Hmmmm hmmmmm hmmmmm. Don't forget that there are 2 additional hikers who'll be going, but aren't going to register.

Man, all the HAS'ers come to Tucson for the weekend, and I have to go to Phoenix for a professional association activity. WTF! Have some Rigo's for me!

Re: Catalina State Park to the ski area in March?
One of my friends has dropped out (unfortunately he's the one who lives in Tucson so there goes the free place to crash), but my roommate's still in. That means we've got 5.

Re: Catalina State Park to the ski area in March?
We'll need at least 2 vehicles so we can pull off the shuttle. I don't know if nickfraley and JeffMacE are going to jump back on this hike, but if they do we'll need 2 vehicles at the top unless someone has a 7 passenger vehicle.

Re: Catalina State Park to the ski area in March?
I have no issues with rescheduling for either the following weekend, or 2-3 weeks later as I have a group presentation in class the following Monday. Sat. the 2nd, 9th, and 16th also could work, but I'd prefer the 2nd. The heat shouldn't be a problem because to make this hike work we'll need to be on the trail early. By the time it gets hot in the desert we'll be far above it.
